Troy's Major League Baseball Monument.............Vandalism marks

Senator Joe at Uncle Sam Parade in Lansingburgh..Senator Joe at Bruno Stadium with team owner.

Commentary on Troy's Major League Baseball Monument.

Common sense says to move it from the present location at Knickerbacker Park
to Bruno Stadium - in a monument park setting - like at Yankee Stadium.
If moved in time for the 2008 All Star game at Bruno Stadium,
- the Valley Cats will pick up the moving costs.
This will generate tremendous media exposure and tourism..
-------- Why wait until it is vandalized even more? --------

Knickerbacker Park Commission doesn't like the idea - being provincial.
excuse is that no Haymaker games were played at the Bruno site.
Nobody visits it any more. Just used as a coat rack at events in park.

Now that Senator Bruno's office has been contacted again, lets see if the Senator will even acknowlege our phone calls.    In two years, the Senator has NEVER answered any communications about this. A constituent who once picketed Sen. Bruno came up with the idea, is that why?????
County Executive Jimino has privately made suggestions, but given it no press.
Mayor Tutunjian should be as bullheaded about this idea as replacing City Hall.

What DO our politicians care about besides themselves???
It's about time we called a spade a spade and replaced some of these people.
Come to think of it, the recent shift in Troy's City Council indicates just that.
